Dr Celia Clark

For centuries Portsmouth's extensive natural harbour, incorporating the dockyard and a complex supporting system of military, naval and air force support facilities, was key to England’s defence. In this talk, Dr Celia Clark discusses the fate of these redundant sites and shares her passion for the harbour, its local identity and how we can respect its historical significance.  She also reveals how she and co-author, Martin Marks OBE, researched and wrote their new book, Barracks, Forts and Ramparts: Regeneration Challenges for Portsmouth Harbour’s Defence Heritage

This talk will appeal to anyone involved in local planning or interested in the future of south-east Hampshire.  It will also appeal to anyone interested in local and/or naval history or those who simply love the harbour.

Join Celia on the 4 July, 12:00 – 12:40 for an additional online Q & A.
