Macbeth
When three witches reveal their prophecy on the heath, Macbeth does whatever it takes to become king of Scotland. Driven by his desire to rule, a savage darkness consumes the hearts of the treacherous warrior and his wife. Corruption and an insatiable greed for power lead to death and destruction in Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy.
Macbeth, known as Shakespeare’s most immersive and haunting play, is brought to the atmospheric setting of Portchester castle.
Bring a chair and a picnic and enjoy watching Shakespeare as he first saw it performed, in the open air. The immersive performance will take place in the stunning setting of the Inner Bailey of the castle. We encourage you to join the feast, bring a picnic, and take a spot on the grass area as you watch the play happen all around you.
