The Longest Johns brings sea shanties to Portsmouth

Although we had booked The Longest Johns to perform at the festival last year, we were most grateful that the band were able to make it for the festival weekend, to bring their shanties to the City of Portsmouth!

The evening began with Chris Ricketts and Garry Blakeley (fiddle), who played original music written by Chris and both really wowed the crowd.

Next came some delightful shanties with The Longest Johns, and they did not disappoint with their humour and wonderful songs, including the popular Wellerman. You can read more on this here with the review by Chris Broom, Portsmouth Guide editor from The News, Portsmouth.
